Operational Expertise

Verna Group currently manufactures more than 150 million medical pulp products at its state-of-the-art pulp moulding factory in Bolton, near Manchester, UK.

The Group has been producing medical pulp products for nearly 50 years and is the undisputed global expert in its field.  It has an experienced Research & Development Team comprising external and internal pulp moulding experts, who continuously improve products and processes, and develop radical new solutions, such as the world's first detergent proof, biodegradable pulp wash bowl.

Significant investment has been made in Verna's factory in recent years, with the introduction of automated inspection and packing, which have further enhanced the efficiency of the manufacturing process.  Further investment is committed over the next few years to increase the Group's manufacturing capacity to meet its international expansion plans.

The Operations team at Verna combine many years of medical pulp moulding experience with up-to-the-minute professional methodologies such as lean manufacturing and six sigma.  The focus is on continuous improvement  and efficiency.

The Verna Group Distribution Centre is a hub of activity; typically handling around 1,500 inbound and over 3,000 outbound containers per year in the UK and to over 40 countries worldwide.
