Always looking for ways to improve our service delivery to our clients, Vernacare is excited to announce our new "expanded warehousing relationship" with OM Healthcare Logistics (OM HCL) effective June 15th, 2009. This arrangement will reduce transit time for both regular and rush orders. OM HCL, a fullservice third-party logistics (3PL) provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, will provide Vernacare with warehousing and delivery services from their new facility in Louisville, Kentucky.

Tuffie 5 helps Blackpool deal fatal blow to C. diff

A new ‘five in one’ wipe that eradicates the five major groups of pathogens, including C. diff, MRSA, E.coli and Swine Flu, is helping Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to succeed in its fight against infection. The Trust has introduced many hard-hitting measures to enable staff to achieve the required significant reductions in levels of C.diff, and the adoption of Vernacare’s new Tuffie 5 wipe across the Trust’s five sites is an important part of the initiatives.

On May 1, 2008, Western Canada's first and only dedicated heart surgery centre opened its doors to serve Western Canada and the far North. Named after former Deputy Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Don Mazankowski, this innovative LEED silver centre, and new Vernacare customer, handles both adult and pediatric heart patients.

Southern Cross Moves to Maceration

Southern Cross Hospitals in Wellington has replaced its bedpan washers with a macerator as part of its zero tolerance approach to infection. With Cultural safety and infection control as prime drivers, The Vernacare "Vortex" macerator has been installed in Southern Cross Hospitals' Wellington facility as part of its infection prevention strategy. "Vernacare is excellent as it addresses our concern for infection control", said Ward Manager, Sally Whitehead. " Previously we used a combination of systems, combining a sanitiser with washing and disinfecting (for those items that didn't fit in our sanitiser). We were not happy with this system and were even considering a second sanitiser. The Vernacare macerator was a cost-effective option and met infection control standards."
